Be Here Now. Think of it like this: when you're doing one thing, gently let go of everything else. If you're reading a book, you don't need to think about yesterday's basketball game or tomorrow's Math test. You don't need to worry about what's happening in another room or what you'll have for dinner. Just like putting down a heavy backpack, you can set aside all those other thoughts. You aren't saying those things don't matter - you're just giving yourself permission to focus on what's right in front of you. When thoughts about other things pop into your head (and they will!), you can say to yourself "Right now, I'm here, not there" and return to what you're doing. It's like having a superpower that helps you concentrate better. It's different from trying to push thoughts away or getting upset when your mind wanders. Instead, you're just reminding yourself where you want your attention to be, like gently steering a boat back on course. - Mr. J

Mrs. Maltais, Mr. Stephens, Mrs. Wisniewski and Mrs. Jones are sharing a positive message on "Be-Leafing:" Have you ever felt like you couldn't do something? Maybe you thought a task was too hard or you weren't good enough. Well, it's time to "be-leaf" in yourself! Just like the leaves on a tree, you have the power to grow, change, and become the best version of yourself. Don't let negative thoughts hold you back. Believe in your abilities and know that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. So the next time you feel unsure, remember this: "Be-leaf in yourself!"
